Today, our focus is to pray for What’s Next
God, thank you for giving us a family in Christ. Thank you for this opportunity to seek You as one body throughout this time of fasting and prayer. Help Your Church to see one another as family. Help us to love each other and to continue to show Your grace. Help us to speak truth in love. Bring unity to your Church. We pray as we move forward into this new year that we would continue to seek You in this way.
Today, our prayer focus is for Kingdom Advancement
God, we pray for Your Kingdom to come here on Earth as it is in Heaven. We pray for opportunities to shine Your light brightly in our homes, our communities, and our world. Help us to be bold in sharing our faith, speaking truth in love, and being ambassadors for Christ. Thank you for Your Spirit who guides us, speaks through us, and empowers us to do all You have called us to.
Today, our prayer focus is for the NEXT GENERATION.
Thank you, Jesus, for the children you have put in my life. Thank you for the privilege and responsibility you have entrusted to me to show them what it looks like to know You. Please help me and all of the parents in our local churches to be filled with Your patience, Your love, and Your care for them. Protect them from the evil one and from those who mean them harm. Give them an early understanding of who You are and of Your great love for them. Help them to grow in their love for You and follow you for all of their lives.
Today, we are praying for the Elderly
God we thank you for the older generations in our life. We pray for your presence to be a comfort to each person who is feeling lonely in this season. We pray for your constant companionship for those who already know you and for those who do not know You yet, that they would receive You into their lives. We pray that we would see the needs of the elderly people around us and respond as You would have us do. Help us to be Your hands and feet to all those You place in our lives.
Today, we are praying for MARRIAGES & FAMILIES
Thank you, Lord, for the marriages in our community. Please let those who are married see the gift that they have been given and find joy in their marriage. Show each husband the treasure he has been given in the wife You have given him, and help him to love her with Your power and strength. I pray for each wife to recognize the influence she has on her husband and to love and submit to him as worship to You. Help our marriages to reflect the beauty of Your love for Your Church and to be filled with your presence and power.
Today we are praying for the BUSINESS COMMUNITY
Thank you, God, for your love and provision for us. Even with the extremely hard year it has been for so many, we look to You as our hope and our anchor, today. We pray for the businesses in our area to see success. We pray for your favor and guidance in how to best run a business in a world that is continually changing. Thank you that you see and understand the needs of each office, each store, each self-employed small business—we ask for your help and blessing for all of these, today.
Today, we are praying for our FIRST RESPONDERS
God, thank you for all the first responders and local officials in our community. I pray for your protection and strength as they serve and protect the people in our area. I pray that Your Spirit would guide them as they seek to lead and help those in need. I pray that our first responders would be men and women who are treated with kindness and respect, and for peace and comfort for their families. And we pray for wisdom and the guidance of your spirit for all those serving in our local government.
Today, we are praying for LOCAL NON-PROFITS.
God, thank you for your comfort and provision. Thank you for all those in our community who are burdened with a desire to serve and provide for those in need. I pray for strength and provision for all the local organizations who work so hard to help. I pray for more volunteers, more finances, and that Jesus would be glorified as we love people in the way in His name.
Today, we are praying for the POOR AND MARGINALIZED
God, thank you that you see our needs and that we can pray and ask for help and provision from You. We pray for those struggling and in need in our community to see Your hand provide for them. Thank you for the churches, the non profits, and those individuals you’re already using to help meet some of these needs. We pray for hope to be found in You for all those who feel forgotten or lost. We pray for strength and wisdom as we want to be a part of helping those in need.
Today we are praying for Addiction
God, we pray for your protection and healing for those who have suffered and are suffering from addiction. We pray for those who are hurting and for Your strength for those walking through suffering. We pray that you would provide a way out, a way to safety, and most importantly the hope of salvation. We pray for repentance and healing and that they would turn to You. Thank you that you bring healing and peace that go beyond our understanding.
Today we are praying for PROSPERITY
God, we thank you for your provision. Thank you for Your Spirit who leads and guides us as we seek You. We ask for your blessing on us as we follow You and trust in You for all we need. We pray that you would bless us with more of Your presence, the joy of our salvation, and the means with which to live generously with all that we have!
Today, our focus is to pray for our Government Leaders.
God, thank you for the leaders you have placed in my life. I pray that you would give strength and encouragement to all those you’ve placed in positions of authority. I pray for wisdom as they lead our country, our state, and our cities. I pray for the leadership in our country to be softened to hear Your voice and follow after You. Please pour out your blessings on all those who have been called to lead and for humility and grace to fill their hearts.
Today, our prayer focus is for Depression & Mental Illness
God, thank you that You are our Savior, our Friend, and our Healer. Thank you for being a Good Father who understands our needs and cares about our pain. I ask you to show your power and glory in meeting the needs of those who are suffering the affects of depression and mental illness. Help me to remember to come to you with my own suffering, and help me to trust in your goodness and love for me and those around me. We pray for your wisdom as a country, a community, and as your children in how to best love and support those around us who are struggling in this way.
Today we are praying for Racial Reconciliation.
God, thank you for creating all people. Thank you for the way that you bring so many nations, backgrounds, and people together to worship Jesus as one family. God, I pray for the tensions that exist in this country between people who are different races. I pray that you would convict the hearts of those filled with hate or misunderstanding. May Your truth and love fill this country, especially those who know You. Help Your children to be an example of forgiveness and joy in diversity. Convict my heart of any ways that I may be harboring bitterness or prejudice against someone different than me. Thank you that you are a God who restores and redeems, and I pray this over my own life, church, and community.
Today’s prayer focus is the SANCTITY OF LIFE
God, thank you for your mercy. I ask for your mercy on our nation as so many lives have been taken through the tragedy of abortion. I pray for our government to be moved to see the value of these lives. Give authority to those who can make a difference in our legislation on this issue, and open the eyes of those who have been so deceived. I pray that you would move in the hearts of those women facing unplanned pregnancy to see the incredible gift of life they’ve been given. Help me to see how I can make a difference in this fight for children’s lives.
Today, we are taking time to pray for GRACE
God thank you for your grace and your presence in my life. Thank you that you know everything about me and continue to show me more and more grace throughout all my days. I pray that as I go about my daily routines, that I would be more aware of Your presence with me and recognize the ways you are always at work. Give me more opportunities to speak about You, to serve others, and to share this same grace with those around me. Help me to be empowered by Your Holy Spirit to walk in the good works you have prepared for me today.
Today, we are asking for WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT
Thank you, God for giving me your Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, I know that You live within me as my Comforter, Teacher, and Counselor. Please continue to guide and direct me as I follow you. Help me to know when You are leading me and to listen to Your voice in my heart when You speak to me. I pray that you would put Godly people in my path to speak truth into my life and help me to listen. I pray that you would speak to me through Your Word, and show me how to choose the path you have set before me that
Today, we are praying for God’s help to LOVE OTHERS.
God, thank you for being my Savior. Thank you for your wonderful gift of salvation. Help me to remember the great love you have for me and for all those around me. I pray that you would work in the lives of those who do not believe in You. Show them your great love and kindness. Give me opportunities to share Your gospel and to love the people you place in my life each day. I pray for your mercy on those who are rebelling against you and ask that Your Spirit softens their hearts. Thank you for your patience and love.
Today’s prayer focus is FINDING HOPE IN JESUS.
Jesus, thank you that you are unchanging and that I can trust you no matter what circumstances I am in today. Thank you that you are my rock. Help me to remember to put my hope in you and nothing else. Help me to fix my eyes on you. Thank you for your faithfulness to me each and every day of my life.
Today, our prayer focus is seeing CHRIST’S CHARACTER IN OUR LIVES
God, thank you for giving us Your Holy Spirit. I pray that you would fill me fresh with the power of Your Spirit to live fully for you this year. Give me power and strength to resist temptation and live like Jesus. Pour out Your Spirt upon me and use my life to bring glory to Your name in all that I do. Use me, change me, strengthen me, and satisfy my soul as I live my life for your glory.
